What this service is

TelescopeCompareHQ is an independent comparison site. We publish prices that telescope brands print on their own pages, with the aperture and focal length of the priced instrument beside them, and we recommend on those figures.

How we are paid

Brands and retailers may pay us a commission when you buy through a link on this site. That never changes a printed figure, a ranking or an absence: the ranking column is the price the brand published, and a brand that pays nothing is priced the same way as one that does.

About the price index

Every figure in the index is quoted verbatim from the brand's own published page, with the URL, the quote and the retrieval date beside it, and a hash of the page text at retrieval. A brand whose page could not be read is listed with that fact.

No warranty

The index reports what brands published on the dates shown. Telescope retail runs seasonal sales and the entry model is the one most likely to move, so a figure here is a reading with a date on it rather than a promise about today.
